A Concierge’s Monologues

Poetic Pixels is a subtle counter-voice in the lobby of Schicklerhaus in Berlin. An LED surface shimmers behind a wall of glass bricks. Each brick becomes a pixel, each pixel a point of light. The pixels form language, shaped by generative text systems that unfold in continuous variation.

A neural network generates fictional concierge monologues and poems reflecting on arrival, routine, and the quiet desire to write. Modular text engines assemble office scenes from shifting variables such as light conditions, actions, locations, and consequences, allowing for vast combinatorial variation. Haikus respond to interior and exterior atmospheres, while a time-stamped house protocol records minor building events and is periodically interrupted by abstract truths. Curated and recombined, these fragments circulate endlessly across the wall.

Together, the systems gently disrupt the routine of the office lobby. The installation becomes a living generative presence, oscillating between data, poetry, and quiet observation.
